Saigon Hi-Tech Park

Ideas about a hi-tech park in Ho Chi Minh City have arisen in the early 1990s when Vietnam was taking initial steps of its economic reform. It took scientists and economic strategists several years to identify appropriate approaches and development models to build the hi-tech park. During this time, the Government has affirmed the direction to accelerate the development of science and technology as the driving force for the industrialization and modernization process to push forth Vietnam economic growth. The Saigon Hi-tech Park was established by Decision of the Prime Minister in October 2002. This is one of the national only two hi-tech park projects, signifying the Government‘s commitment to invest in high technology. The launch of the Project mainly based on the full support of Ho Chi Minh City Government and the scientific community.
